El Dorado County Transportation Commission (EDCTC) is pleased to announce the release of the Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Greater Placerville Wildfire Evacuation Preparedness, Community Safety, and Resiliency Plan (project). The project area is located on the western slope of El Dorado County and includes the US Highway 50 corridor from Pollock Pines through the City of Placerville and the principal and minor arterials and major and minor collectors in the project area. The project will address the project area's growing vulnerability to the risk of wildfire by delivering a wildfire evacuation preparedness plan for the Greater Placerville area in El Dorado County. The project includes identifying vulnerabilities in the transportation, communication, and water networks that lead to catastrophic failure during a wildfire and will identify the infrastructure improvements necessary to make those networks more resilient. Due to the unpredictable nature of fire behavior and the almost limitless number of potential ignition spots, the project will not identify specific evacuation routes but will utilize public education to increase the public's awareness of potential evacuation routes.

EDCTC received comments that the requirements of Task 5 of the RFP, Modeling and Simulations, would like exceed the scope of project funding due to the dynamic nature of the modeling described in that task. TO addess that issue and simplify the modeling and provide more flexibility in delivery of that task, Task 5 was revised to change the modeling from dynamic to static modeling. Please see Addendum#1, Revised Task 5, that details those changes to Task 5 of the RFP. To allow time to adjust to the change to Task 5, the Project Timetable has also been revised. Based on the attached Adenudum #2, Revised Project Timetable the CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF PROPOSALS IS NOW 4:00 PM ON FEBRUARY 2, 2022.

Proposals must be received no later than 4:00 PM ON FEBRUARY 2, 2022, at the EDCTC office.
