

WESTERN PLACERVILLE INTERCHANGES
PROJECT
DESCRIPTION
The project will provide for improvements on and around U.S. 50 at the western
end of the City of Placerville.
Improvements include:

ACTIVITY/PROJECT STATUS
In November 2005, the City Council certified the EIR/EA and selected
Alternative D as the preferred alternative for the final design. FHWA approved
the environmental Findng of No Significant Impact on May 15, 2006.
The final project report, dated January 2008, has been approved, signed, and
received by EDCTC and the City of Placerville. The Cooperative Agreement for
the PS&E phase has been signed, approved, and executed.
The $360,000 in RTIP funding intended for use as local match for the Federal Earmarks/Appropriations was approved for allocation by the CTC at the September 20, 2008 meeting.
A Request for Authorization to proceed with the PS&E Phase was submitted to Caltrans Local Assistance on April 30, 2008 and approved on July 30, 2008. A Notice to Proceed with the development of the PS&E phase of the Western Placerville Interchanges project was issued to Dokken Engineering by the City of Placerville on October 1, 2008. The City has retained Dokken Engineering as their design consultant, and Liz Diamond will be serving as the Project Manager.
