EDCTC Social Service Transportation
Advisory Council (SSTAC)

Advises the El Dorado County Transportation Commission on any major transit issues, including the coordination and consolidation of specialized transportation services.
Receives and documents information regarding transit needs at public meetings and/or hearings, and disseminates that to their constituents.
Advocates for transportation alternatives for those in your region and/or segment of the population, and represents those constituents at the EDCTA Transit Advisory Committee meetings.

Who sits on the SSTAC?
The SSTAC membership includes representatives of people or groups that are typically dependent upon public transit. These include senior citizens, the disabled, and low-income residents.

EL DORADO COUNTY
SHORT-RANGE TRANSIT PLAN
COMPLETED

EDCTC was successful in securing grant funds from the California Department of Transportation’s Transit Technical Planning Assistance Grant program to complete a Short-Range Transit Plan (SRTP) for El Dorado County. The new SRTP replaces the short-range element of the combined Short- and Long-Range Transit Plan Study completed in November 2003. The new Short-Range Transit Plan will guide transit operations over the five-year period from 2008/09 through 2012/13.

The following is a list of some of the more significant service plan proposals included in the SRTP:

Establish deviated fixed-route service in El Dorado Hills
Ultimately convert to a “Community–Express” route system
Serve Red Hawk Casino via Iron Point Connector
Continue to provide downtown Sacramento commuter service
Consider a Rancho Cordova stop on limited Sacramento commuter runs once local Rancho Cordova services are improved
Eliminate the South County service
Expand Dial-A-Ride service
Contract for provision of weekly Georgetown / Cool / Pilot Hill service to Auburn

Implementation of the proposals included in the final plan are dependant on available funding and approval by the El Dorado County Transit Authority Board. Details of the above proposals and more are included in the final plan which is available for review or download HERE.
