MISSOURI FLAT ROAD INTERCHANGE
CALIFORNIA
TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION PROGRAMS
$27.5 MILLION
TO MISSOURI FLAT PHASE 1B
The
California Transportation Commission (CTC), at their May 2008 meeting, programmed
$27.5 million in State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) funds to
the Missouri Flat Interchange project for phase 1B.
“The CTC’s programming action reflects the State’s commitment
to early delivery of this project,” said Kathryn Mathews, Executive
Director of the El Dorado County Transportation Commission.
Phase 1B includes improvements to mainline U.S. Highway 50 and seismic and
safety improvements to the Weber Creek Bridges. The project will increase
interchange and mainline U.S. Highway 50 capacity and improve Level of Service
from “F” to “B”.
Phase 1A is currently under construction and will be completed by the end
of October, ahead of schedule. The approval of STIP funding at this time will
allow the El Dorado County Transportation Commission to advance phase 1B immediately
after phase 1A is complete, realizing a significant cost savings by not incurring
any delay between project phases.
